A leading regional healthcare organization in Central Connecticut is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive care and management of patients in the Critical Care Unit (CCU). This is an evening and night shift role.
This position collaborates closely with physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care and optimal clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate is a skilled clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical examinations.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients in the Critical Care Unit.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with Critical Care physicians.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging results.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning discussions.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing care needs.
Qualifications Required
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in critical care, intensive care, or a related acute care setting.
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
