One of the largest and most reputable healthcare organizations in Connecticut has an opening for a Chief of Infectious Disease Physician in southwestern Connecticut. Recognized for its safety and quality, as evidenced by our Leapfrog ratings, and recognized as the only hospital to win the AHA Quest for Quality Award in 2026, to which our Antimicrobial Stewardship and work on Hospital-Acquired Infections have contributed.

 About the Opportunity:

• Reporting to the System Director of Infectious Disease and leading a department of 4 physicians
• System-wide collaboration with over 25 ID physician colleagues
• 100% Infectious Disease. No primary care
• Inpatient consultations at 470-bed community teaching hospital
• Outpatient office including outpatient HIV and Hepatitis C patient treatment, STDs, and travel medicine
• Work towards continued growth of the Section of Infectious Disease
• Mentorship of junior faculty
• Oversee the hospital epidemiology program, working closely with Infection Prevention
• Work closely with our Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacists
• Postgraduate medical education for residents as well as medical students
• Appointment to Quinnipiac University at the Assistant Professor level
• Shared call with other ID physicians
