A leading, nationally recognized academic medical center is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Surgical Critical Care team in Hartford, CT. This night-shift role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team caring for complex and critically ill surgical and trauma patients in a state-of-the-art ICU environment.
Position Responsibilities
Working collaboratively with attending physicians, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team, the Nurse Practitioner will:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
- Develop and implement medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
- Manage critically ill ICU patients in accordance with established protocols
- Perform critical care procedures within scope of practice
- Participate in ventilator management and resuscitation efforts
- Coordinate care with consulting services and specialists
- Identify patient needs and facilitate appropriate referrals
- Deliver evidence-based care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and quality

Qualifications Required
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA Certified
- Eligible for or currently holding unrestricted Connecticut licensure
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Advanced Practice Provider experience in a critical care ICU setting
